	es to map\,\nmanage\, and exploit the environment. Earth observation\, as 
	this practice is\ncalled\, has mostly been deployed in resource extraction
	\, scanning the planet for\nminerals\, petroleum\, and natural gas. But in
	 recent decades\, this technology has\nbeen taken up by new hands for envi
	ronmental justice and ecological\nreconstruction.\n\nIn this talk\, Jorge 
	Núñez Vega analyses the formation of a research collective\nconcerned with
	 the defense of the rights of nature in Ecuador\, amid a\ngovernment-decla
	red internal armed conflict. The Earth Imagination Network\nbrings togethe
	r communities affected by contamination\, remote sensing experts\,\nenviro
	nmental lawyers\, and multimodal artists. Through collaborative satellite\
	nvisualisations\, this collective explores who can speak for nature in the
	 realms\nof politics\, economics\, and ethics. Ultimately\, what is at sta
	ke is the\npossibility of seeing Earth not only as a damaged environment i
