DESCRIPTION:In MMODYST\, artist Aaron Zvi explores the possibilities of pai
	nting\, symbolism\nand pattern-making. The exhibition presents a series of
works in progress\, in\nwhich he experiments with visual language and new
ways of working. Drawing on\nhis background as a graphic designer\, Zvi s
eeks greater freedom in his artistic\npractice. By letting go of establish
ed structures and breaking conventions\, he\nis developing a more personal
visual language in which modernism\, psychology and\nmysticism converge.\
n\nThe exhibition reveals an artist venturing into new territory. Rather t
han\nfocusing on the finished result\, the emphasis is on the process of e
xploration\,\nexperimentation and discovery.\n\nAaron Zvi is a British art
ist\, graphic designer and illustrator who has lived\nand worked in Amster
dam for over twenty years. Born in Reading and raised in\nLiverpool\, his
practice explores the intersections of visual language\,\nsymbolism\, psyc
hology and mysticism.\n\nHis fascination with modernism and mysticism is p
artly rooted in his family\nhistory. Through his great-grandparents\, writ
er Mary Butts and poet and\npublisher John Rodker\, he is connected to a b
roader cultural and intellectual\nhistory shaped by figures such as Willia
m Blake\, Sigmund Freud and Jean Cocteau.\n\nExploring this artistic legac
y has become an important part of Zvi's search for\nhis own identity and a
rtistic direction. History\, personal experience and\nsymbolism come toget
her in an evolving artistic practice that increasingly\nembraces painting.
