SUMMARY:Lines that run from each organ to the heart
DTSTAMP:20260511T194902Z
DTSTART:20260529T180000Z
DESCRIPTION:Lines that run from each organ to the heart is a performative e
vening of\nreadings by Martín Zícari and Danielle Vorthuys.\n\nMartín Zíca
ri reads from Oostende (2023)\, a poetry collection tracing\nestrangement\
, fantasy\, and memory through the mirrored topographies of Argentine\nOst
ende and Belgian Ostend. His poems operate through deviations\, disobedien
ce\nand repeated bendings of orientation. Past and present cavities rearra
nge\nthemselves in order to ask whether twisting our spatial\, mental or s
exual\norientation becomes a form of deflection. Could spatial disorientat
ion reorient\ndesire? In his writing\, inner and outer landscapes are supe
	rimposed\, provoking a\nbifurcating destination of voice.\n\nDanielle Vort
huys performs Corset Drama alongside Artémise Ploegaerts and Faysal\nMroue
h\, with corset design by Anouk van Wijk. In their theatrical piece\, brea
th\nbecomes a moving line: both medium and constraint. Seated\, the perfor
mers move\nfrom the pelvis through techniques loosely inspired by Martha G
raham’s modern\ndance\, while the corset restricts or intensifies their vo
ices. A two-headed\nscript\, unmasking the desire of garments and fiction\
, of distorting alternative\nnotions of sex and sexuality. The performance
weaves in poems from Danielle’s\nBad Technique\, constellating narratives
	 of excess\, erratic motor memories and\nimpulse.\n\nLanguages: Spanish\,
English\, French.\n\nLines that run from each organ to the heart is an eve
ning part of our\nTransatlantic Voices series. Through workshops\, reading
s\, and events\, the\nproject seeks to amplify women and queer perspective
s of contemporary Latin\nAmerican authors\, opening up a space for resonan
ce and resistance.\n\nPoster designed by Alix Chauvet\, with artwork by Az
	ul Demonte\n\nWith Martín Zicari\, Danielle Vorthuys\, Faysal Mroueh\, and
	 Artémise Ploegaerts.
