Do you think it is unreasonable that your f undamental right to safe shelter is not taken into account? Are you angry because speculators are taking advantage of the housing shortage and the g overnment is just pretending that it doesn't care? Despite the fact that s quatting is forbidden in the Netherlands, it still continues. For people w ho actively act for the right to housing, mutual aid is self-evident. Give n the reason for squatting, namely the social problem of housing shortage, squatters generally act as a kind of union.
When preparing a squatting action, during the squatting action itself and when you are inside the sq uat, there is always advice and support from other squatters. People are h appy to stand by you almost unconditionally, but you have to take the init iative yourself and you have to make the final choices yourself. In practi ce, this means that you have to know how to find an empty house yourself, find out for yourself why and how long it has been vacant, put together yo ur own group and ultimately live there yourself. Of course, you can count on practical help as long as you make a clear plan and coordinate its impl ementation.

If this approach seems suitable to you to do something about your own housing shortage and the housing shortage in general, come along to the squatting consultancy hour every Tuesday in Joe's Garage.
