DESCRIPTION:Instrumental funk and soul from Melbourne\n\nThe four members o
f Karate Boogaloo have been making music together since their\nschool days
	. In Melbourne\, bassist Henry Jenkins\, drummer Hudson Whitlock\,\norgani
st Callum Riley and guitarist Darvid Thor began by covering songs by\nBook
er T. & The M.G.’s and The Meters. Almost twenty years on\, they have\ndis
tilled those influences into their own brand of instrumental funk and soul
.\nHammond organ\, guitar\, bass and drums form the foundation for playful
melodies\nand the tension of an old film soundtrack. The music is recorde
d live without\noverdubs\, clearly demonstrating just how well the quartet
plays together.\n\nTheir new album\, ‘Access All Areas’\, is due for rele
ase on 9 October. For this\nnew album\, Karate Boogaloo stripped away ever
ything that made the tracks more\ncomplicated than necessary. Recorded on
four tracks and with as little\nembellishment as possible\, the album show
cases how Karate Boogaloo have fully\nmade the instrumental funk and soul
	of their heroes their own.
