	\n\nIf I had been born 100 years ago\, I wouldn’t have been a drummer: it 
	simply\nwasn’t “normal”\, a female drummer in fascist Italy.\nThis thought
	 fascinates me: what else could I have been\, in another life? And\nwhat m
	ight I still become\, shaped by a future I cannot imagine?\nDriven by this
	 curiosity\, I use the drums as a lens to explore the invisible\nrules tha
	t shape us.\n\n'I Never Lie' is a solo performance where music\, visuals a
	nd storytelling come\ntogether to question what we take for granted in our
	 daily lives. A drum set\nbecomes the beating heart of the show\, surround
	ed by triggers\, electronics\,\nsamples and immersive visuals – all contro
	lled live.\n\n'I Never Lie' premiered in 2025 within the 'Feeling Curious?
	' festival at\nTheater Rotterdam\, after a few try-outs at the Amsterdam F
	ringe Festival.\n\n\nABOUT AGNESE VALMAGGIA\n\nAgnese Valmaggia is an Ital
	ian drummer\, composer and multidisciplinary artist\nbased in Rotterdam. H
	er work explores identity\, perception and the unspoken\nrules of everyday
	 life\, building entire worlds with a drum kit\, a laptop and her\nown poi
	nt of view.\nWith a background in jazz and a curiosity for storytelling\, 
	she uses rhythm and\ntechnology to question how we behave\, who we are and
	 what we could become.\nDuring her Master’s in jazz composition at Codarts
	 (2022–2024)\, she conducted an\nartistic research on the use of samples i
	n the compositional process. This\ninvestigation became the foundation for
	 her current solo project\, I Never Lie\,\nwhich premieres in Rotterdam in
	 2025.\n\nParallel to her solo work\, Agnese performs as a drummer with va
	rious bands in\nthe Netherlands and abroad\, including the nine-headed col
	lective Parra.dice. In\n2021\, she released But still\, the debut album of
