SUMMARY:🎬 Greek Film Festival WORKSHOP: Low-Budget Filmmaking as a Method
DTSTAMP:20260509T173310Z
DTSTART:20260523T130000Z
DESCRIPTION:By Smaragda Nitsopoulou\n\nMost workshops for independent filmm
akers begin with the same unspoken premise:\nthat you are working with les
s than you should have\, and that the goal is to\ncompensate—to fake the l
ook of money you don’t have\, to imitate the production\nvalues of films m
ade under conditions nothing like yours.\n\nThis workshop begins from the
opposite premise.\n\nSome of the most precise\, intimate\, and politically
alert cinema of the last\nfifty years was made deliberately small. Chanta
l Akerman filmed in her own\napartment. Abbas Kiarostami strapped two came
ras to a dashboard and dismissed\nthe crew. Harun Farocki refused to show
what his film was about\, and made that\nrefusal the form.\n\nThese are of
ten described as “survival strategies\,” but in reality they are\nformal\,
ethical\, and artistic positions—ones that filmmakers with full financing
\ncannot easily reach.\n\nThis is a workshop about learning to occupy that
position on purpose. Send your\nmaterials before the 17th of May at conta
	ct@noumenia.nl [contact@noumenia.nl]. \n\n\nDiscover more here: https://ww
	w.grffnl.nl/professionals-1\n[https://www.grffnl.nl/professionals-1]\n\n\n
This workshop is part of the Greek Film Festival [https://www.grffnl.nl/]\
nprogram.\n\nThe Greek Film Festival in the Netherlands (GRFFNL)\, exclusi
vely at Filmhuis\nCavia and the Kempernaerstudio\, is a new cultural initi
ative dedicated to\nshowcasing Greek cinema to audiences in the Netherland
	s. The festival presents a\ncurated selection of films by Greek directors\
, including fiction\, documentaries\,\nand other cinematic forms that refl
ect the diversity and creativity of Greek\nstorytelling.\n
