DTSTART:20261121T203000Z
DESCRIPTION:Muziek\n\nDeath Sells has a dark and idiosyncratic sound that b
ursts with energy. The\nmusic evokes a feeling you didn't know existed. Wi
th their dissonant tones\,\nenergetic shows\, and sensitive lyrics about p
ersonal stories\, they leave a\nlasting impression.\n\nDeath Sells consist
s of Mees Weterings (drums)\, Emma Smit (bass)\, Jef Maimon\n(guitar)\, an
d Mitch Nitsotoli (vocals). Last year (2025)\, their single "Corner"\nappe
ared on the compilation album "Girls To The Front". Outside of this projec
t\,\nthey also performed with Knives\, Ronker\, and The Linda Lindas\, and
were selected\nfor the Popronde in 2025.\n\nIn 2024\, they released their
debut EP as well as their first album\, ‘Wired To A\nDream’. Death Sells
is currently signed to the label TCBYML.\n\nThis year\, Warming Up Festiva
l is not asking how you can live more sustainably.\nIt is asking why so ma
ny people\, especially young people\, have tuned out of a\nconversation th
at may affect them more than anyone.\n\nNot out of indifference\, but beca
use of mental exhaustion. Because of climate\nanxiety and guilt. Because o
f a system that places the emphasis on individual\nresponsibility\, while
the biggest polluters and fossil fuel subsidies largely\nremain out of the
spotlight. And sometimes also because a climate movement that\nseems to d
emand perfection rather than participation.\n\nYou can’t save the world al
one. Fortunately\, you don’t have to. Warming Up\nFestival therefore takes
a different approach: solidarity instead of penance.\n\nFor three days\,
the festival brings together art\, journalism\, music and\nconversation ar
ound the question of how individual choices relate to systems\nthat are la
rgely beyond our control\, and where we can actually make a difference\nas
a collective. It is a festival that makes room for imperfection\, for dou
bt\nand for new forms of engagement.\n\nMore information and the complete
	program can be found here\n[https://tolhuistuin.nl/specials/warming-up-fes
tival].\n\nGirls to the Front is a Utrecht-based initiative focused on the
representation\nof FLINTA people in the Dutch punk music scene. It began
as an event on 8 March\nat dB's\, organised by Bibi Fay Bannink\, an 18-ye
ar-old feminist punk fan with a\nplan. It grew into Girls to the Front\, a
compilation LP featuring 14 punk bands\nwith FLINTA frontwomen\, released
at EKKO on 8 March. This was followed by a tour\nacross the Netherlands\,
	 including shows at Paradiso\, VERA Groningen\, Rotown and\nWilde Weide\,
as well as a DJ set at Down The Rabbit Hole.\n\nGirls to the Front not onl
y celebrates the diverse punk sounds created by FLINTA\npeople making them
selves heard across the country\, but also seeks to explore the\nintersect
ional struggles and sources of inspiration people encounter\, whether\nthr
ough making zines or organising more interdisciplinary events featuring\np
oetry\, film discussions and panel talks.\n\nGirls to the Front hopes to b
uild a community of FLINTA people who can mosh\ntogether without constantl
y having to guard themselves against male dominance in\nspaces like these.
Drawing inspiration from the Riot Grrrl movement\, the\ninitiative connec
ts its legacy to contemporary issues and struggles. Above all\,\nGirls to
the Front wants to bring FLINTA people to the forefront and create\nspace
for them to scream\, mosh together and celebrate their identities through\
npunk\, both as a music genre and as a way of life.\n\nZonzij
