Which grew out to a compilation vinyl with 14 FLINTA\nfronted punk ba nds\, called Girls to the Front. Which was released on the 8th of\nmarch 2 025 in EKKO\, and was followed by a tour throughout the Netherlands.\nIncl uding Paradiso\, VERA Groningen\, Rotown\, Wilde Weide and Down the Rabbit Hole\nDj-set. 2026 will bring another compilation vinyl\, another tour an d a continued\nfight.\n\nGirls to the Front doesn’t only celebrate the var ious ‘punk’ sounds created by\nFLINTA people that are alive and loud in th e country\, but also wants to dive in\nthe intersectional struggles and in spirations people experience through the\nmaking of zines or through organ izing more interdisciplinary events with poetry\,\nfilm talks and panels.\ n\nGirls to the Front hopes to work towards a community of FLINTA people w ho can\nmosh together without constantly having to be cautious of the male dominance in\nspaces like this and take inspiration from the Riot Grrrl m ovement with modern\nimplications and struggles. Girls to the Front is an Utrecht based initiative which focuses on the Dutch bas ed FLINTA representation within the punk music industry. It started as an event on the 8th of march in dB’s by Bibi Fay Bannink, an 18 year old femi nist punk fan with a plan. Which grew out to a compilation vinyl with 14 F LINTA fronted punk bands, called Girls to the Front. Which was released on the 8th of march 2025 in EKKO, and was followed by a tour throughout the Netherlands. Including Paradiso, VERA Groningen, Rotown, Wilde Weide and D own the Rabbit Hole Dj-set. 2026 will bring another compilation vinyl, ano ther tour and a continued fight.

Girls to the Front doesn’t only cel ebrate the various ‘punk’ sounds created by FLINTA people that are alive a nd loud in the country, but also wants to dive in the intersectional strug gles and inspirations people experience through the making of zines or thr ough organizing more interdisciplinary events with poetry, film talks and panels.

Girls to the Front hopes to work towards a community of FLIN TA people who can mosh together without constantly having to be cautious o f the male dominance in spaces like this and take inspiration from the Rio t Grrrl movement with modern implications and struggles. Most importantly we want all the FLINTA people to the front and we want them to collectivel y scream en mosh together and celebrate their identities through punk as a genre, but also a lifestyle. 

Last March, Girl s to the Front, Vol. 2 saw the light of day.
