DESCRIPTION:Hong Kong and Spain: a double recital\n\nSplendor and Stichting
VoorUit are happy to present "GenZ Voice Recitals”. This\nseries of four
double recitals plus one triple recital offers the audience a\nfresh look
at classical music through the lens of Generation Z. Twelve talented\nvoic
e students from the Conservatory of Amsterdam and their duo partners take\
nyou on a musical journey around the world.\n\nThe fourth stage: tenor Jas
on Li\, soprano Rosella Tang\, and pianist Isaac Lam\n(Hong Kong) tell the
story of an unexpected nocturnal encounter in Hong Kong. A\nprogram featu
ring Cantonese and Western art songs about the night\, the moon\, and\nlov
e.\nMezzo-soprano Paula Duarte and soprano Yulietta Quevedo (Spain) both s

	sic—a recital\ncentered on a key figure in Spanish culture\, history\, and
	 tradition: the poet\nFederico García Lorca.\n\nNight\, Moon\, and Love —
Entangling Emotions in Hong Kong\n\nTenor Jason Li: "Hong Kong is a magica
l city\, where the lights never fade\, and\nthe city's voice is always ali
ve. As people who are born and raised in Hong\nKong\, we often lose sight
of how fast-paced this city—and our own lives—truly\nare. We rarely take t
he time to confront our deepest emotions\, leaving them\nneglected\, forgo
tten. But then\, on some random night\, we might glance up and\nnotice the
moon\, and in that quiet moment\, our deepest emotions slowly blossom.\nA
s two singers from Hong Kong\, we would like to take this opportunity to s
hare a\nstory about an unexpected nighttime encounter in Hong Kong\, where
two young\nadults with a complex relationship cross paths\, awakening emo
tions hidden deep\nwithin their hearts. As people from Hong Kong who often
struggle to express\nthemselves\, they can only rely on the moon to conne
ct with each other. The two\nsingers act as the protagonists\, searching t
heir innermost desires through songs\nand dialogues. The programme include
s a few Cantonese art songs\, together with\nsongs from different countrie
	s about night\, moon and love."\n\nFaralae is a fusion of poetry\, theater
\, and music. It is a recital that seeks to\nbring audiences closer to the
work of poet Federico García Lorca and\, through\nit\, to a vital part of
Spanish culture\, history and tradition. At the heart of\nthe recital lie
the Canciones populares españolas that Lorca himself harmonized\nand adap
ted. What is extra special is that the recital is given by two doubly\ntal
ented artists: both Paula and Yulietta will sing and play the piano\, crea
ting\na connection that transcends the voice alone.\n\nFederico García Lor
ca (1898–1936) was one of the most influential poets and\nplaywrights of 2
0th-century Spanish literature. Born in Fuente Vaqueros\,\nGranada\, he st
ood out from an early age for his artistic talent and his\nsensitivity to
poetry\, music\, and theater. His work\, deeply rooted in Andalusian\npopu
lar traditions\, explored universal themes such as love\, death\, freedom\
, and\nmarginalization. Lorca lived his homosexuality in a time marked by
repression\,\nwhich made him both vulnerable and\, at the same time\, a sy
mbol of resistance.\nBeyond his theater\, Blood Wedding\, Yerma\, The Hous
e of Bernarda Alba\, he\ncultivated a close relationship with music: he wa
s a student of the pianist\nManuel de Falla\, collected and harmonized Spa
nish folk songs\, and performed them\nat the piano alongside La Argentinit
	a. At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War\,\nhe was arrested for his lib
eral ideas and his sexual identity. In August 1936 he\nwas executed near G
	ranada\, leaving behind an immortal legacy.\n\nJason Li - tenor\nRosella T
