DESCRIPTION:Genre: Documentary\nOpen: 19:30 - 23:00 hrs\nTickets: € 0\n\nTh
e premier screening of our FUSHUP documentary episode one will be at OT301
	 on\nJune 4th at 19:30.\nThe Netherlands has a reputation for tolerance. A
place where dissent isn’t just\nallowed\, but encouraged. Where protest i
s part of the democratic fabric. Where\npeople gather\, speak out\, and ch
allenge power openly. And on the surface\, that’s\nstill true. But somethi
ng is shifting. Not through dramatic crackdowns or\nheadline bans\, but th
rough quieter\, more subtle means. Regulations. New\nlegislation. Permits
for “designated protest zones.” Conditions on when\, where\,\nand how prot
	est can happen. Protest isn’t disappearing – it’s being managed.\nAround t
he world\, and here in the Netherlands\, the space to protest is\nshrinkin
	g. Laws are being rewritten to criminalize dissent. Peaceful protestors\nf
ace consequences that no longer match their actions. The right to disrupt
	– the\nvery essence of protest – is being reframed as a threat. When non-v
iolent\ndissent starts to look like a crime\, something fundamental is bre
aking.\nBut there’s a second problem. While power evolves\, protest largel
y doesn’t. We\nstill gather. March. Chant. The same playbook\, repeated ac
ross generations.\nThere’s value in that – but its impact is fading. Becau
se predictable protest is\neasy to manage. Easy to anticipate. Easy to red
irect. Easy to ignore. And\nprotest that doesn’t evolve becomes less effec
tive. Not because the message is\nwrong\, but because the method no longer
breaks through.\nThis is where FUSHUP comes in. FUSHUP is an independent
journalistic experiment\nfocused on the evolution of protest. We explore t
he power of creative\,\nnon-violent resistance – not just as a moral stanc
e\, but as a strategic one.\nBecause creativity is harder to control. It a
ppears where it’s not expected. It\ndisrupts without following the script.
It communicates in ways that are\ndifficult to suppress – and impossible
to unsee. Through films\, live events\, and\npublications\, FUSHUP documen
ts and amplifies breakthrough examples of modern\nprotest – actions that s
hift perception\, hijack attention\, and force themselves\ninto public con
sciousness. Not to repeat what’s been done\, but to expand what’s\npossibl
e.\nFUSHUP launches June 5\, marking the anniversary of a defining act of
non-violent\nresistance during the Tiananmen Square protests. A moment tha
t didn’t rely on\nscale\, but on action. That’s the direction. Because if
protest is being pushed\nout of sight\, it must find new ways to be seen.
If disruption is being\ncriminalized\, it must become more inventive. If p
	ower is evolving\, protest must\nevolve faster.\n\nFU.SH [http://FU.SH].UP
