DESCRIPTION:🎬 SCREENING & PANEL: MIGRANT JUSTICE ORGANISING — UK TO NL\n\n📍
	 PLANTAGE DOK AMSTERDAM 🗓️ WED 8 JULY | LIGHT MEAL 19:00 | EVENT 20:00–21:3
0\n\n💸 FUNDRAISER FOR RACIALISED QUEER PEOPLE CURRENTLY IN THE ASYLUM PROC
ESS\n\n \n\nThis short film screening brings together researchers\, activi
sts\, and organisers\nworking on migration in the Netherlands to ask what
Dutch migrant justice\norganising can learn from the UK’s experience confr
onting surveillance-based\nimmigration enforcement. The conversation comes
at a critical moment. In the\nNetherlands\, the legal and political terra
in around migration is shifting fast\,\nfrom updates to migration law and
the EU’s deportation regulations\, to the\ndeteriorating situation at AZCs
and Ter Apel\, to the expanding role of\nsurveillance technology in migra
tion control. Drawing connections to the UK\ncontext we want to explore wh
	at strategies\, tactics\, coalitions\, and research\napproaches can travel
across borders\, and what’s specifically needed to build\nand strengthen
the movement here.\n\n**19:00 — Light meal** Het Rode Keukentje is proving
a light meal and snacks at\nPlantage Dok on donation basis.\n\n**20:00 —
Screening NO RELEASE** As a starting point for this conversation\,\nwe’ll
screen NO RELEASE (~15 min). It is a short film based on research by\nMoni
sh Bhatia into the use of GPS surveillance in the UK immigration system. T
he\nfilm follows two migrant men who\, after release from prison\, face a
new form of\npunishment: continuous electronic monitoring. Produced by BÉZ
NĂ Theatre and\ndirected by Sînziana Cojocărescu\, it offers a visceral en
try point into the\nhuman cost of these systems to ground the evening’s br
oader discussion in the\nlived realities they’re meant to address.\n\n**20
:30 — Discussion** The screening will be followed by a panel as well as op
en\ndiscussion with everyone present. Speakers include film makers Monish
Bhatia and\nSînziana Cojocărescu as well as organisers and academics on mi
gratant justice in\nthe Dutch context.\n\nHosted by the Racism and Technol
	ogy Center.
