	acial lake outburst triggered a flash flood that caused the\nBhotekoshi Ri
	ver to swell\, sweeping through the homes of thousands of people in\nthe R
	asuwa and Nuwakot districts of Nepal. This is not the first flash flood\, 
	or\nthe first burden of climate change\, that the Nepali people have had t
	o endure.\nEvery year\, floods take hundreds of lives across the country. 
	This year\,\nhowever\, the flooding has reached an unprecedented scale: mo
	re than 1\,200 people\nhave been confirmed dead\, and over 4\,000 remain m
	issing.\n\nWhen people’s lives are reduced to numbers\, it becomes importa
	nt to remember\nthat behind every person who has died\, gone missing\, or 
	been displaced are\nindividuals with hopes\, dreams\, and families.
