SUMMARY:Filosofie voor het Leven met Stine Jensen
DTSTAMP:20261022T192630Z
DTSTART:20270203T190000Z
DESCRIPTION:Talk Workshop Identiteit\n\nFilosofie voor het Leven is on a mi
ssion. A mission to seek wisdom that not only\nsounds good\, but that you
can actually put to use in your own life. That’s why\nwe’re delving into 2
\,500 years of philosophy and translating the ideas of great\nthinkers int
	o an interactive\, accessible and lively evening. Not a lecture\, but\nan
experience. One from which you’ll hopefully go home with more questions th
an\nyou came in with.\n\nOn 3 February\, Filosofie voor het Leven will sta
rt the conversation with\nphilosopher Stine Jensen on the theme of ‘The Co
urage to Fail’. Pay attention:\nthis conversation is in Dutch. During this
evening\, Jensen will reflect on\nquestions such as: is it acceptable to
fail in a society centred on high\nexpectations (of oneself and from socie
ty)\, achievement and success? Must one\nalways strive for perfection and
success? When does making mistakes elicit\nsympathy\, and when does it pro
voke horror? And do we always have to learn from\nour mistakes? In 2021\,
she published the book 'Faalmoed' (The Courage to Fail)\,\nan ode to those
who dare to go through life vulnerable and stumbling.\n\nDon’t expect an
evening where you simply sit back and relax. We’ll be engaging\nin convers
ation with one another and with the audience\, testing your\nphilosophical
knowledge in a quiz\, dishing out beer mat wisdom and getting a bit\ncarr
ied away with Plato. Because philosophy only truly comes to life when you\
nexplore and question it together\, and every now and then simply have a l
augh at\nyourselves.\n\nWe are Tijmen (’73)\, Marlous (’85) and Eva (’93).
We are at different stages in\nour lives\, but we all face the same quest
ions. How do we deal with climate\nchange\, identity\, polarisation and th
e pressure to keep going round and round?\nAnd perhaps the most important
question of all: how do you stay true to yourself\nin a world that seems t
o be spinning ever faster?\n\nFortunately\, we are not the first to give t
his some thought. For over 2\,500\nyears\, philosophers have been ponderin
g precisely these kinds of questions. That\nis why we are on a mission: to
seek out wisdom that does not remain on the\nbookshelf\, but which you ta
ke home with you. Practical guidance for life\, hence\nthe name Filosofie
voor het Leven (Philosophy for Life).\n\nWith ‘Philosophy for Life’\, we o
rganise evenings where we explore the major\nthemes of our time together w
ith inspiring thinkers. With substance and a touch\nof fun. Featuring quiz
zes\, discussions with the audience\, beer mat aphorisms\,\nunexpected ins
ights and plenty of scope to let our Plato fly every now and then.\n\nZonz
