DESCRIPTION:A fusion of Dutch pop and soft rock\n\nDe Nachtwacht is Jiri Ta
ihuttu’s new band project. Whilst he was previously best\nknown for his wo
rk in hip-hop\, he has now consciously opted for a different\napproach: a
band in which ensemble playing and musicality take centre stage.\nDutch-sp
oken music\, warm and multi-layered\, with a love of classic song\nstructu
res and a distinctly contemporary outlook. The band moves between pop\,\ns
oft rock and funk\, without confining itself to a single genre. On stage\,
the\nfocus is on space\, building tension and detail. Jiri’s guitar playi
ng plays a\ncentral role in this: virtuosic where possible\, understated w
here necessary.\nThis became immediately apparent during the debut show at
	 Cinetol\, which sold\nout within a minute.\n\nOn 9 January\, their debut
album ‘De Nachtwacht’ was released via Noah’s Ark and\nalso on vinyl. The
first singles\, including ‘Huis van Zwart en Rood’ and\n‘Cowboys’\, were m
et with acclaim and promoted by the likes of Arjen Lubach\, Hans\nKlok\, B
ente\, Achmed Akkabi and Maarten van Rossem. De Nachtwacht has now been\nc
onfirmed for Eurosonic Noorderslag\, Paaspop\, Down The Rabbit Hole and va
rious\nother festivals and venues. With a rapidly growing reputation as a
live act and\na distinct sound all of their own\, the band is already rega
rded as one of the\nmost promising new Dutch acts.
