What is the Community Dinner?

Every Monday evening, Café de Ceuvel hosts a community dinner. Six days a week, we operate as a regul ar restaurant, where you are served at your table, your table is cleared, and our guests are taken care of. But on Monday evenings, we simply become a living room where everyone who feels like it can come together to share a meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming: young and old sit togeth er at long tables, chatting animatedly about the latest happenings. You se rve yourself from large pots of food and pour yourself a cup of tea from a thermos on the table. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated, just sharing a meal with people from your neighbourhood. Come and experience it for yours elf, and you’ll soon find yourself looking forward to joining us for dinne r at De Ceuvel every Monday.

The meal is essentially free, because we want the Community Dinner to be accessible to everyone. Of course, cook ing for 100 people does come with costs. That’s why we ask guests to make a donation. To cover our expenses, a contribution of €5–15 would be apprec iated, but if that’s too much for you, you’re welcome to give whatever you can afford. And if you can’t spare anything at all, that’s absolutely fin e too!

The meal is donation-based, but if you can’t af ford to contribute, you’re still more than welcome to join us for dinner!< /em>
