DESCRIPTION:CINEMOCCII PRESENT: FILM SCREENING DRIJFLAND\n\nD r i j f l a n
	 d (Nico Boink\, 2026\, 64 Min\, NL //EN subtitled)\n\nDrijfand tells the
story of the foating gardens created by the renowned artist\nRobert Jasper
	 Grootveld in Amsterdam’s Entrepot harbor\, Zeeburg district.\n\nBeginning
in late 1999\, I started to film the construction of these unique\ngarden
islands in Grootveld’s workshop\, a visionary project he had nurtured\nsi
nce the 1960s. Within a few months two floating garden were completed. Thr
ough\nintimate footage\, we witness the creative process unfold\, as well
as the sudden\ncollapse of the project. Amid escalating tensions between G
rootveld and local\nauthorities.\n\nUntil his passing in 2009\, I filmed r
egularly. Among the moments captured were\ntimes when he was recognized fo
r his role in bringing global attention to\nAmsterdam\, as well as his inv
olvement as one of the founders of the Provo\nmovement in the 1960s.\n\nIn
2024\, drawn by the gardens’ abundant nature and the dedication of the Ra
ft\nBuilders of Amsterdam\, who maintain the islands in Grootveld’s pionee
ring\nspirit\, I returned to document this living legacy.\n\nThe islands’
buoyancy relies on styrofoam\, a material Grootveld championed for\nits “p
	ower of softness” . Yet\, 25 years later\, styrofoam’s environmental impac
t\nhas sparked urgent questions. The film delves into this dilemma\, traci
ng the\nsearch for sustainable\, bio-based alternatives that honour Grootv
	eld’s ethos\nwhile protecting nature.\n\nDrijfand offers a candid\, tender
\, and often hilarious glimpse into Amsterdam’s\nunderground creative forc
	es\, a story of resilience\, innovation\, and the evolving\nrelationship b
	etween art\, nature\, and community.\n\nNico Boink\nBesides working as a p
	rofessional photographer throughout my career\, I’ve also\noperated as an\
nindependent\, non-proft\, and autonomous filmmaker. This approach allowed
	 me to\ncreate films that\nspan long periods of time.\n\nTrailer: https://
