DESCRIPTION:Genre: Drama\, Film\nLine up: Julia Hummer\, Barbara Auer\, Ric
	hy Müller\nOpen: 19:00 - 22:00 hrs\nTickets: € 3\n\nDie innere Sicherheit
	2000\n(The State I am In)\nDirected by Christian Petzold\n106 minutes\nIn
	German with English subtitles\nChristian Petzold's debut feature\, co-scri
pted with Harun Farocki\, throws us\ninto the Germany of the late 1980s. I
t's a female coming-of-age flick with a\nradical difference. Although the
West German media demonized its other half in\nthe East\, this flick shows
the heavy mood and alienation that actually existed\nin the West. Directo
r Petzold was perhaps the most prominent of the new German\ncinema filmmak
ers at the turn of the century known as Die Berliner Schule.\nDuring the l
ate 1960s\, a lot of the young generation in Germany became aware of\nwhat
had happened during World War II. They were confronted with the atrocitie
s\nof the concentration camps\, something they were not taught in schools.
... And\nwhat's more\, they discovered that many previous Nazis were again
in positions of\npower\, both in major corporations and politics. These y
oung people held\ndemonstrations\, formed resistance groups\, and created
a widespread left-wing\nmovement. The German government responded with a r
uthlessness not seen since the\nNazi era. Once the counter-cultural moveme
nt was smashed the strongest radicals\non the left were hunted down in the
1980s. That's the context of this film as we\nsee two parents with their
child on the run through the German landscape.\nThe parents are constantly
moving and hiding\, they are paranoid at every turn...\nand when their 15
	-year-old daughter falls in love with a young boy\, instead of\njoy\, it's
seen as dangerous\, as a security risk. The young girl is caught\nin-betw
een two worlds - one of persecution\, and one of yearning for acceptance\n
and normality as a teenager.\nDespite being his debut\, this remains one o
	f Christian Petzold's sharpest\nmovies... complex\, poignant\, and a bit o
f a thriller. This flick was inspired by\nthe real life story of Wolfgang
Grams who was gunned down by the cops when he\nwas on the run. If you're l
ooking for a typical action-packed spectacle it's\nperhaps better to look
	elsewhere\, but if you're looking for something a bit in\nthat direction\,
but glimmering with more philosophical and sociological\nramifications\,
then this might be right up your alley.\n\nDoors open - 19:00\nStart film
	- 19:30
