DESCRIPTION:Genre: Book launch\nLine up: Arne van Steenis\, Karlijn Groet\n
	Open: 19:30 - 23:00 hrs\nTickets: € Free\n\nOn the 28th of May Photographe
r Arne van Steenis will promote his Photo book “We\nare here”\n\nAbout the
book he says\,\n"As an ongoing project the book is composed bij photo’s o
f our crow neighbors\nthat share our roof and balconies for over six years
. Every day\, they enrich our\nlives\, and we enrich theirs by finding a d
eep connection in our daily\nencounters. I have captured the feeling of th
ese encounters in images. As a\nviewer\, you are invited to visit our neig
hbors and come face to face with this\nbeautiful and wise animal. The book
is enriched with portraits and compositions\nderived from them."\n\n“We A
re Here” will be published entirely in black\, just like the crows\nthemse
lves. The photographs are printed in black ink on deep black paper. This\n
allows the crows to truly come to life when light moves across the pages—j
ust\nlike the sheen on their feathers.\n\nA poem by Karlijn Groet\, poet a
nd singer\, adds an extra layer to the experience.\n\nFrom December 2024 t
o January 2025\, several portraits were displayed on the art\nfence at Oos
terpark in Amsterdam—the backyard of the crows’ territory\, where the\nent
ire colony also resides.\n\nIn the AA newspaper of May 2025 the crows were
part of an article focused on the\ncolony currently living in the Oosterp
ark.\n\nPartly through CROWdfunding supported by Voor de Kunst the book is
finally\nthere.\n\nWe welcome everyone to the book promotion at the Venti
lator-bar at OT301 on the\n28th of May at 19:30 to share our love for thes
e black and blue fathered\nneighbors of our city.
