DESCRIPTION:From 9 July to 20 September\, Melkweg Expo presents 'Beautiful

Wal). At the same\ntime as the exhibition opening\, the photo book 'Beauti
ful Creatures' will be\nreleased\, published by nai010 publishers.\n\nVisi
bility Is Resistance\nWith his iconic Polaroid Big Shot and vintage flashc
ubes\, Van der Wal has\ncaptured hundreds of intimate moments across Amste
	rdam\, Berlin\, London and\nbeyond. DJs\, dancers\, lovers\, strangers\, a
ll part of the same ritual. What began\nwith a simple question evolved int
o a striking portrait series and a colourful\ncelebration of the internati
onal queer community. A love letter to freedom\,\nhedonism\, diversity\, c
hosen families and the right to be seen.\n\nIn the current climate\, docum
enting and archiving queer lives is an act of\nresistance. It is a refusal
to disappear\, and a clear statement that this\ncommunity has always been
here and will continue to exist.\n\nThe Photobook \nThe book brings toget
her more than 350 unique Polaroids from The Sinful Son’s\ncollection\, com
plemented by texts by Junior van Keulen\, Ridder van Kooten and\nLewis G.
Burton\, which provide context for the work as well as an insight into\nTh
e Sinful Son’s working methods. The photo book Beautiful Creatures offers
a\nrare and intimate glimpse into the queer nightlife of clubs in Amsterda
m\,\nBerlin\, London and beyond. What would normally fade into the darknes
s of the\nclub or be lost at sunrise has been brought together in a unique
collector’s\nitem and exhibition. Pre-order now and receive your copy dur
ing the opening of\nthe exhibition at Melkweg Expo.\n\nFrom Tuesday till S
unday between 11:00  and 19:00 you can visit the exhibition\nfor free at M
