Bef ore the meal\, residents\nare warmly invited to contribute their ideas on the venue’s future programme\nduring an interactive brainstorming session. \n\nKluge is originally from Bhopal\, India\, and currently lives in the M olenwijk\nneighbourhood. For her\, the connection with the earth is essent ial\, which is\nstrongly reflected in her love of clay as an artistic medi um. In her work\, she\ndraws deep inspiration from her grandmother’s Gond tribe\, one of the largest and\noldest tribes in India. Gond art is charac terised by a strong emphasis on nature\n(earth\, fire\, animals\, the Tree of Life) and the use of striking\, complementary\ncolours.\n\nAs well as her spatial art\, Kluge enjoys sharing her cultural traditions with\nthe n eighbourhood. She has previously run workshops in the Molenwijk on the\nIn dian Rangoli welcome ritual. Hospitality is therefore central to her\nphil osophy\, which is strongly inspired by the Hindu belief that ‘Every guest is\na god’.
