DESCRIPTION:CONVERSATION BETWEEN OLGA MICIŃSKA AND ANDREA VERDECCHIA\, WITH
A SHORT READING\nAT 6.30PM\n\nAmanda is an incidental periodical and a gl
ossy magazine on technological\nmatters. As a self-published initiative by
artist Olga Micińska\, it aims to\nestablish an emancipatory platform bri
nging together various perspectives on\ntechnical knowledge in contemporar
y and future-oriented contexts. Amanda is\ngreatly inspired by Tradeswomen
	 – a quarterly magazine for women in blue-collar\nwork\, published in the
80s and the 90s in California\, which at the time managed\nto create a net
work of support among its readers\, challenging the gendered\ndivisions in
the domain of manual labour.\n\nThe second issue of Amanda titled “Clay i
n Ye Stomachs” focuses on the social\,\npolitical and personal importance
of the ability to build\, which too often is\nalienated from most people a
nd delegated to construction work specialists or\nruling bodies. The contr
ibutions encourage a reflection on the matter through\nthemes like instinc
	tive children’s play\, animal construction skills\, natural\nbuilding meth
ods\,gestures of disobedience and solutions for cooperative\nformations.\n
\nContributors to the publication include: Damien Brailly\, Avril Corroon\
, Lui\nEnomoto\, Forerunner\, Girls and Queers to the Front\, Les Ateliers
	 del Bosc\, S*an\nD. Henry-Smith\, Michiel Huijben\, Olga Micińska\, Narge
	s Mohammadi\, Joanna\nPiotrowska\, Anna Siekierska and Alicia Spence.\n\nA
manda: Clay in Ye Stomachs has been officially published by Rijksakademie
van\nBeeldende Kunsten\, and is made with the support of Het Cultuurfonds\
, Mondriaan\nFund and Irish Museum of Modern Art.\n\nOlga Micińska is a pr
acticing woodworker\, visual artist and educator. In her\ninterdisciplinar
y approach she combines practical aspects of craft with\nfantastical anecd
otes\, while projecting grounds for cooperation\,\nknowledge-sharing\, and
handling of the material and non-material resources.\n\nAndrea Verdecchia
is an architect specialised in housing\, affordability and\nco-production
developments. He is a co-founder of Time to Access\, an\nAmsterdam-based
platform devoted to the development of radical architecture.
