SUMMARY:AI & the Future of Work: Thriving in an AI Driven Labor Market
DTSTAMP:20261015T221508Z
DTSTART:20261030T160000Z
DESCRIPTION:AI is reshaping the nature of work\, and the labor market we ar
e stepping into\nlooks nothing like the one before it. While nobody can pr
edict the future of an\nAI-driven labor market\, we can look closer at the
questions that matter most:\nWhat skills are needed for entering an AI-dr
iven workplace? How is AI shaping\nspecific HR processes\, such as recruit
ment or onboarding? And how can\norganizations make decisions that support
the successful implementation of AI\,\nin ways that also work for their p
eople?\n\nRecently\, the people building the world’s most powerful AI mode
ls asked the\nworld to slow down the speed of AI implementation. The peopl
e leading nations\ntold them not to. Somewhere between those two positions
\, organizations and\nemployees are left with the question: How to survive
and thrive in the\nAI-dominant workplace? This directly points to the spl
it between AI adoption and\nreadiness: companies are switching AI on faste
r than employees can catch up.\n\nIn this event\, we will discuss how AI i
s changing the way work gets done\, which\njobs remain\, what skills matte
r\, and what it means for current and future\nemployees. We will also disc
uss how organizations can make better decisions by\nusing data to understa
	nd which people\, skills\, leadershipstyles\, and cultures\nare most likel
y to succeed.\n\nThe event will open with a keynote by Rina Joosten-Rabou
(Pera). Afterward\, two\nresearchers from the Amsterdam People Analytics C
entre\, Neris Güven and Helen\nZhao\, will share the latest research on ho
w AI is transforming the nature of\nwork. A roundtable will follow\, joine
d by Matthijs Werkman (Randstad) and Corine\nBoon (Amsterdam Business Scho
ol)\, diving deeper into what this means for both\nemployees and organizat
ions.\n\n\nSPEAKERS\n\nRina Joosten-Rabou has spent over a decade building
AI at the centre of how\norganizations make decisions about people. As CE
O of Pera People Science\, she\nhas spent 10+ years applying AI and deep l
earning to workforce decisions\,\nturning intuition-based HR into evidence
-based practice. She also serves on\nsupervisory boards\, helping companie
s navigate how AI is reshaping their\nbusiness models and organisations\,
and has contributed to national AI\ninitiatives including AIC4NL\, the Net
herlands’ €200M AI investment programme.\nThat combination gives her a gro
unded\, practitioner’s view of where the\nAI-driven labor market is headin
g\, and what it takes to stay relevant.\n\nMatthijs Werkman is AI Lead & R
esponsible AI Officer at Randstad Groep\nNederland. Before that\, he held
various strategic roles within this HR service\nprovider\, including Chief
Portfolio Officer & manager solution design. In his\ncurrent AI role\, Ma
tthijs focuses on the core question: the technology is\nalready available\
, but how do we make it truly applicable? His work involves\nidentifying o
pportunities for generative AI\, building a network of AI skills and\nresp
onsibilities within the organization\, and maximizing organization-wide\nv
alue.\n\nCorine Boon is professor of HRM and People Analytics at the Unive
rsity of\nAmsterdam Business School and is the Director of the Amsterdam P
eople Analytics\nCentre. Her work focuses on strategic HRM\, people analyt
ics\, and how AI and the\nfuture of work impacts organizations and employe
es.\n\nNeris Güven is a PhD candidate at University of Amsterdam Business
School. Her\nresearch interests span generative AI at work\, job crafting\
, and professional\nidentity. Her work examines how employees use generati
ve AI to redesign their\ndaily work and how this relates to need satisfact
ion\, meaningfulness\, and\nengagement. She also studies the identity tens
ions academics experience as AI\nkeeps evolving.\n\nHelen Zhao is a PhD ca
ndidate at University of Amsterdam Business School. Her\nresearch examines
how AI can be leveraged to improve employee well-being\, and\nhow AI itse
lf reshapes employee well-being. Her work investigates how employees’\npro
active use of AI impacts workplace relationships\, and how organizations c
an\nbetter design their AI system to optimize digital transformation.
